Chasing the sky

Last week, it was overcast, then cloudy, then more clouds, then sun and more sun. During the week I tried to chase the clouds. On April 21, I ended up at the Yolo Causeway. I think I was facing North when I snapped this shot of the rice paddies.

  1. Interesting, non-obvious use of "the rule of thirds".

At first glance, the viewer might think that this composition is split into two halves, but in reality, it is in thirds.

The cloud masses above the full width string of horizontal clouds against the backdrop of the blue sky make up the top third.

The horizontal clouds along with the horizon line and green wedge on the right comprise the middle third, and the water and foreground greenery make up the bottom third.
